Through sponsorships and donations, District 6 has raised enough money to give away 4,000 backpacks filled with school supplies.

Backpacks will be given out to District 6 students only, grades preschool through 12. Students must be present at the event to receive a backpack. Student names will be checked against registration lists. If students are not registered in District 6, registration must be completed at the event before a backpack will be given to the student.

Once a student’s registration is confirmed, they will be given a ticket to receive a backpack. All students who receive a ticket will be guaranteed a backpack. There are different backpacks and supplies for elementary, middle, and high school students.

The backpack giveaway will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Participants are asked to please leave all pets at home. No animals, other than service animals, will be allowed in the backpack line or inside the Event Center.

District 6 Nutrition Services will be providing a limited number of food bags to students upon entering the Event Center. Food bags will be distributed while supplies last. All meals must be consumed on the Event Center grounds.

More than 55 community organizations and businesses will be at the School Kickoff, offering resources, activities, and fun for District 6 students and their families.

Students can receive free haircuts from Beso Studios, visit a petting zoo hosted by Greeley West High School FFA students, play carnival games, and take home beach balls and other giveaways. Families can also explore a District 6 school bus, check out a Greeley Fire Department truck, tour the new regional Greeley-Evans Gallop Transit bus, and enjoy much more throughout the event.

Free, on-site vaccinations to District 6 students will also be available, as well as low-cost sports physicals and sports registration.
